If a state, say, makes economic activity illegal, that state is very likely to be poor. Its tax revenues will fall, its coffers will shrink, and its services will buckle under the now-unaffordable demand. This is elementary economics. It is plain and simple. To deny the logic of the above, you’d have to be an academic.
