Some things are so obvious and so terrible that it is poor taste to mention them. Poor taste to appreciate that they are inevitable. Some of these things are personal and private, little tragedies that litter our lives. Others are geopolitical. That doesn’t make them any less unutterable for the right-thinking. Until they happen, of course. And then the hit dogs holler.
